    • Separation - Legal Separation is an alternative to divorce where the parties continue to be married but live separately. The process for a separation is similar to divorce. In the end there is a judgment by the Court that divides the assets and debts of the party's, and establishes custody and placement rights for minor children. The parties cannot remarry while they are separated. After the final judgment the parties have several options, they can remain separated, they can agree to reconcile, or the separation can be converted to a divorce (at any time if both agree or if one party requests and one year has passed).
    • Annulment- This is a procedure where, if granted, the party's marriage is considered to be void and legally never to have happened. There are specific criteria that must be met before a Court will grant an annulment, it is not automatic. Our Attorneys have experience in obtaining annulments for clients. If you would like to explore this option please call us to discuss your individual situation.
    • Maintenance (Alimony or Spousal Support) - These financial issues are part of both Divorces and Legal Separation. There are many factors that go into determining whether maintenance is appropriate in any specific case. Factors to be considered include: the needs of the children, the traditional role of the spouse in the marriage and his/her earning capacity, whether a spouse contributed to the earning capacity of the paying spouse, and the level of education of each party. Maintenance is awarded based upon need and fairness. The court will determine the amount of the maintenance and for how long will it be paid.
    • Child Custody - Family issues that involve children deserve special consideration. We strive to deliver satisfaction as your family is at stake. We offer insight which guides your understanding of the potential legal effects on your life and your loved ones. Questions? Contact us today for a FREE consultation regarding your family situation. (920) 432-3116 or via email at info@parinslawfirm.com.
    • Child Support - Child support is based upon many factors including the amount of time a parent spends with the children and other contributions to the support of the child. Each case is individual. Our attorneys are experienced in all child support matters and are able to assist you.
    • Property Division Issues
    • Child Placement (Formerly called Visitation) - This is how the child's time is divided between the parents. The law requires that the court maximize the amount of time that the parents can spend with their children. This does not mean 50/50 child placement. Many factors go into the determination of what is the appropriate placement of the children. These factors include the best interest of the child, the schedule of the child, the work schedule and availability of the parents, mental and physical health of the parents, and other factors the court deem to be relevant. Our experienced attorneys have the expertise to deal with any child placement issue.
    • Adoption
    • Paternity
    • Restraining Orders
    • Enforcement Proceedings
    • Mediation - If successful, mediation is less expensive and less stressful than fighting it out in Court, with a judge making the decisions for your family. Mediation is a process where you and your spouse meet with a neutral person to attempt to voluntarily work out any or all of the issues of your divorce in a cooperative and less adversarial manner. Mediation allows the parties to keep control of the divorce process. The mediator works with both parties to assist them in reaching an agreement on the issues in the divorce that they both can live with. It also helps the parties to communicate and gives them a way to resolve issues in the future.
